As one of Australia’s largest non-government organisations, we carry great responsibility. In observing our LISTEN values, we must consider every person’s story and how they arrived at Youturn. We must prioritise individualised support and safe spaces. We must embrace diversity and withhold judgement.
Communities, via elected governments, fund Youturn’s programs so that no one is left behind. So that each person in our community is afforded the same opportunity as their neighbour, schoolmate or volunteer buddy.
With a vision to help build and sustain safe, inclusive and supportive communities, Youturn’s leadership has settled on five domains:

Our communities face a host of challenges such as housing insecurity, general cost-of-living pressures, and underemployment, which then drive social factors including isolation, relationship breakdown and violence.
In considering Youturn’s vision to be trusted to create safe, inclusive and supportive communities, our strategic focus is shifting to addressing, with our sector partners, the root causes of social challenge and disadvantage. By engaging in capacity building, we aim to empower individuals, families and communities to thrive, collaborate and access supports in a timely and seamless way.
